Armed Forces America’s Kids Run
Youth ages 5 - 18 can participate in the Armed Forces America’s Kids Run Youth Track and Field Day May 17 at Argonne Parade Field. Sign up begins at 9 a.m., event begins at 10 a.m. There will be a run (one time around the field), long jump, 70 meter dash, sack race, 500 meter run and a balloon relay. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category and age group. Call the Youth Center, 773-2564. Sponsored in part by * Warren Federal Credit Union.

 

Arts and Crafts Center

Memorial Day Weekend Whitewater Rafting Trip May 25
Record mountain snows this past winter + warm spring weather = Big Water and Big Adventure! We’ve reserved our seats on the Cache La Poudre so that you can be sure to have a piece of the adventure. Expect to get wet in Class III and IV water on this full day trip. Trip is a paddle trip which means you’ll be assisting your highly trained guide as you maneuver through big waves and avoid big rocks! Trip includes round-trip transportation, full day on the water, wetsuit, splash jacket, helmet and a shore lunch mid-trip. Minimum age is 16 and is not recommended for the first time rafter. Space Camp

Air Force Services Family Member Programs is excited to sponsor the Air Force Space Camp Program for the 6th year. The US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, is the premier provider of authentic, inspiring, and entertaining educational experiences in space science and aviation. Thirty two youth, ages 12-14, will be selected to participate in the Space Academy and 16 teens, ages 15-18, for the Advanced Space Academy. This program is open to family members of Active Duty Air Force, other branches of the military assigned to or living on an AFB, AF Retired Military, AF Civilian Employees, and active Air National Guard and AF Reserve members. Sierra Madre Hike – May 31
This full day hike will take us into the Huston Park Wilderness near the rural towns of Encampment and Saratoga in south central Wyoming. The Baby Lake Trail is rated moderate to difficult and is approximately 10 miles round-trip with elevation gains to just over 10,000 feet and home to the second largest elk herd in the state. You will traverse along timbered trails and summit the trail in a meadow area expanding above the Continental Divide. Trip departs ODR 6 a.m. and returns approximately 7 p.m. Cost is $25. Golf Lessons
Three Link Up 2 Golf sessions offered, 5 - 7 p.m., May 19 - 22, May 26 - 29 or June 2 - 5. Includes 8 hours of lessons and course etiquette, complimentary rental clubs, swing mechanics, terminology, proper behavior and how to maintain proper speed. An incredible value for only $99!
Golf 4 Kids (ages 8 - 13)
Three sessions offered, 10 a.m. - noon, June 23 - 26, June 30 - July 3 or July 14 - 17. Includes use of a junior club set, Golf 4 Kids logo t-shirt, golf towel, neon tee pack and bag tag, rules and etiquette brochures and graduation certificate. The cost is only $49.
Golf 101

Mother's Day Brunch

Warren Mini Triathlon
Start preparing for the Annual Warren Mini Triathlon May 31. It will consist of a 500 yard swim, 12 mile bike ride and 2.5 mile run for teams and individuals. Awards will be given for the fastest times. The cost is $30 per individual or $45 per team. Call the Aquatic Center at 773-3195. S.P.A.C.E. Jr. Deployer
Hey Kids! Learn what it’s like to deploy during Jr. Deployer! You’ll process through the deployment line, travel to Fewastan, return for a “Welcome Home.”
The FEW Jr. Deployer Program will assist your child in understanding the deployment process during an interactive day filled with orders and ID cards, “processing lines”, flight orientation, travel to and from the deployment site, “Fewastan” and a Welcome Home. Experience finger printing, helicopters, weapons display, military working dogs, “EOD”, lunch in the mess tent, and much more! Registered youth/children ages 6 - 18 report to the Youth Center, 1755 Piute at 0830, Saturday, June 7. Registration MUST be accomplished at the Youth Center no later than 1700 hours, May 30. Here the participant is photographed for their ID card and receive their “orders”. Participants in the S.P.A.C.E. Jr Deployer Program ages 6-11 years must be accompanied by an adult for the entire deployment. Call 773-2564.

Intro to Climbing May 15 - 17
Designed for the beginning climber seeking the basics to the more experienced climber looking to review and practice climbing skills. Day one will be held at the Aquatic Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will cover the principles of climbing including but not limited to: different disciplines (sport, trade, ice, etc), differences in top rope and lead, basic gear overview, single and multi pitch differences, styles (slab, crack, dihedrals, etc.), getting down (rappelling, lowering off, down climbing, etc), grading systems for climbs and leave-no-trace etiquette. Day two will take us to the Vedauwoo Recreation area, where we’ll put our newly acquired skills to use. We depart ODR at 10 a.m. and return approximately 5 p.m. All climbing gear included. Youth Golf Lessons
Youth Sports is offering an introductory Tee Level Golf Clinic to the first 60 kids ages 6 - 18 to sign up. Participants will be taught the fundamentals of golf from Warren Golf Course staff. Equipment provided. Registration is May 19 - June 6 at the Youth Center.
The cost is $25 per child and includes a golf polo shirt, cap, rule booklet, and refreshments. A morning and afternoon session are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 - 11 a.m. or noon - 1:30 p.m. Dates are June 11, 13, 16 and 18. Call the Youth Center at 773-2564.

Spring Warren Cup
Play in the Spring Warren Cup Saturday May 10 at the Warren Golf Course. It is a two person/six holes of best ball, six holes of alternate shot and six holes scramble. Handicaps will be used. There is a $20 entry fee with annual pass, $30 without annual pass. Enter at the Warren Golf Course Pro Shop.
