The Veterinary Clinic provides immunization and
out-patient services for the prevention and control of diseases
transmissible to people. The clinic also offers spay, neuter and dental
procedures on a limited basis.
Located in Bldg. 288, military pet owners are encouraged to call 773-3354
for an appointment.
Register your pets, to include horses, at the veterinary clinic within seven
days of arrival, or after acquiring a new pet. If you have your pet
vaccinated at an off-base veterinary facility, you must provide the
veterinary clinic with proof of all vaccinations as they are updated.
Have all puppies and kittens vaccinated with an initial series beginning at
6 – 8 weeks of age, and annually thereafter. Have all pets vaccinated for
rabies at 16 weeks of age, and annually thereafter. The rabies
identification tag must be placed on the animal’s collar.
Kennel services are not available on base. There are kennel facilities in
the area for people needing to board pets during moves or while on vacation.
For emergency pet care contact a local civilian veterinarian.
Upon receipt of PCS orders overseas, call the vet clinic to get updated pet
import requirements to the country you are traveling to. Additionally, pets
must have a Veterinary Health Certification when traveling across state
lines or overseas.
Notify the Vet Clinic if your animal is sold, given away, or dies. If the
animal is sold or given away, the new owner must register the animal in
their name within seven days. Remember, you are financially responsible for
your animal as long as it is registered in your name.
Contact the Law Enforcement Desk if a pet escapes. Security Forces personnel
are responsible for apprehending strays and transporting them to the
Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
Please have your pet microchipped. It is not mandatory for on-base
residents, but it is highly recommended. Call 773-3354 for an appointment! |
