Come check out the great things that are happening with our Community Center programs. We are temporarily sharing a home with the Base Library at 7205 Randall Ave. while Fall Hall has a major “internal facelift”. While we lose our climbing wall for the duration of the project, we’ve gained some pretty impressive “perks” as well.
If you are into gaming, you’ll want to come check us out. We have Xbox 360, PS-2, PS-3, and the Wii systems and a pretty impressive selection of games. Whether your preference is individual challenges or tournament play, we have a program that is geared toward you.
If your sport leans more to chess, foosball, ping pong or pool, be sure to check out the ongoing tournaments that are offered in our new shared location. If the balls you like to chase are a little larger and faster, then check out the batting cage that has been set up in the Archery Range, 6805 S. Frontier Rd. Choose from baseball or softball. If your interest leans more to the sport of archery, our range is calling your name. It’s a little “cozier” than before, but can still provide you with some great indoor archery opportunities.
The family programs are growing strong. In response to customer requests, the Toddler/Preschool Parent and Child Mornings Out are now twice a month. The focus on these mornings out for parents and young children is to give our young children a morning of fun, physical fitness, socialization, and interactive music.
For our school-age youth, the Community Center plans monthly socials and/or community awareness type events.
For preteens-teens they compliment youth programs by offering supplemental programs such as consumer education programs, archery instruction, specialty shoots, and Red Cross Babysitting courses.
For the entire family they offer family bingo, game nights, video nights, scrapbooking/rubber stamp classes, and family archery.
Last but not least, folks of all ages can train and enhance both body and mind with our instructional Judo class.
As always, the Community Center staff continues to work collaboratively with other organizations to provide community wide programming such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Fun Run/Walk, Tops In Blue tryouts and performances, Teen and Family Talent contests, base level chess tournaments, Frontiercade base picnic activities, monthly family activities at the Trail’s End Club, Build-A-Boat competition, Trick or Treat Off the Street, the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and more.
The Community Center is also the location of the Information Tickets and Travel office. Get discount tickets for many national and area attractions. Call the Community Center at 773-3510.
